A while back i was talking to my grandma and we somehow got on the subject of athlete's foot. She tried to tell me that when she was younger and used to get athlete's foot someone had told her that peeing on her feet would help cure the fungus! At the time i had athlete's foot (I don't anymore) but still there was no way that i was going to try this crazy treatment! I don't know if anyone else has heard of this cure for this awful fungus...

PS:I don't know if she tried this on her feet, but i'm not taking any chances, and anytime I get close to her feet I RUN! 😉

*awkward silence* I hate it when my grandparents tell me to do gross stuff like that too.

While there are many 'ordinary' cures for this athlete's foot available at your local drug store/drogisterij, I think that peeing on it indeed helps. I don't know for sure, but something tells me I have heard it before.

Athletes foot is caused by a fungus, and since urine is acidic to a degree and can contain a little uric acid this can explain the reason it cure athletes foot...as long as one doesn't "soak" their feet in urine...urine also contains other fungus and bacteria killing properties. Another good remedy is plenty of fresh air and sunshine...sun and air will kill the fungus...olive oil and garlic is another cure for AF...at least I've heard it to be...
