Viewing many posts today, and even some new posts I don't see any reason why I should need to post warnings at all. The forums are a mess, and it can't be blamed on people not understanding the rules of a forum on a chess site.(2)
Forums here at RH l just get back to normal posting rather than trying to shock and fight each other.(4)

(2) No... but it can, however, be blamed on those that continuously foment the prevailing "anti-everything" attitude here. I could mention names, but I might as well recite the membership of your clan. (I'm not saying they are all guilty, but the vast majority of the guilty ones *are* in your clan.) They very often cut newbies and their questions off at the knees, just because they have the "nerve" to post their question in General instead of Help. They make fun of everything, usually completely disregarding the intent of the OP. They make completely useless, stupid "spin-off" threads making fun of other threads. They take candy from babies. They shove other kids down and take their lunch money. Some of them even extract "protection" in the form of ass-kissing from people who'd rather not be humiliated by them. This is how it was here ever since I started posting regularly. This is made even worse by the "Recommend" feature, since the nastier the reply, the more recs, thus encouraging the behavior. So far, you and others have managed to keep the pot from boiling over, but the lid is certainly starting to make some noise.
(3) Yes, there are a number of stupid and baiting threads, but what is new? As I said, it's been this way for a long time now. (See 2 above) And yes, I agree with you that it is getting out of hand. But I also think it's *been* out of hand for quite a while now, and while I don't think it is yet time for Russ to step in, I don't think *anyone* here will like it if it becomes time.
I think you're probably one of the better mods on the site. But then again, I am of the opinion that the mods should be invisible to the membership, so they can be free to do their jobs without the distractions that come with the celebrity status.
(4) I agree with this, actually. But my point (See 2 above) is that certain people (or rather a group of people) have made the General Forum the nasty place it is (and I mean "normally" ), simply *because* the "normal posting" IS "trying to shock and fight each other". One reason this is so bad, imo, is the rec system. Over time, it has awarded those who are the nastiest. Trying to see who can out-nasty and out-goad each other, and it doesn't matter who gets in their crossfire, either. I think one reason the General Forum and the attitude overall sucks right now is because they've chosen as their current taunt targets a clan that doesn't mind fighting back, who are not going to take their crap lying down. And if it keeps up, I am afraid the pot finally *will* boil over.
Now you might be saying "oh, she's just sayting this because she's a GDJD..." and yes, I am a JD. But this doesn't mean I'm automatically wrong. Yes, some of us have been especially "vocal" lately, but as I said, those of us who have reacted most vigorously have been the ones who got caught in the crossfire, and we're sick of it. We've been pushed around by the playground bullies enough already and even though we happen to have spines and can and do stand up for ourselves and "push back", we just want it to stop, just like you do (including the PM's linkiing to obscene renderings, btw).

The only reason that this stupid feud is still going on is that both of you groups of 'tards don't know when to shut up and keep trying to get the last word in every arguement.

Sure, there's a lot of rubbish in the forums. But you can't tell people what to post. You are not going to change the type of person (or poster) they are. You can only remove threads and ban people.
Hypocritical moralising and throwing out unfounded accusations will probably only make the situation worse.
Does anyone really want to see MORE moderation?
