Just finished it a few weeks ago. I have to say I was disappointed - it's great in places, but MP Shiel's The Purple Cloud is an ancient treatment of a similar subject and knocks it into a cocked hat.

I read the story about the kid who "pearl dives" and gets his guts sucked out his ass by the creepy crawler. I nearly vomited. That being said, I will have to read the whole book. A couple of my bandmates really like this dude but I've never actually read an entire novel of his. Guess I'll have to start soon.

Me, I'm reading "Canadian Engineering and Geoscience Pratice and Ethics". It's a real scream. Can hardly put it down. 🙄
