In the vein of the "What are you listening to?" thread, tell us all what you're reading and what your thoughts on the novel/article/comic book/etc. are.

BTW, if you're thinking of answering "I'm reading this thread right now, nyuk nyuk". Let me be the first to tell you that you are an unfunny a$$hole who deserves to be horsewhipped and peed on.

Right now, I'm about a third of the way through "Blankets" by Craig Thompson. A highly enjoyable graphic novel for those with a sensitive side. 😉

Redemption by Leon Uris. When I'm done with that I'm going to read The Bourne Identity br Robert Ludnum. The New Harry Potter was also really good.

The Doors of Perception- Aldous Huxley.

I feel I should have read this years ago. Only ten pages in so a bit hard to give a verdict. For those who don't know but are interested this is where "The Doors" got their name.

Medicine and Compassion by Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche with David R. Shlim.

Incredibly fresh perspective on the failure of modern medicine to produce caregivers that have the skills to truly care for their patients compassionately, and the ways and methods that may be used to cultivate and strengthen the natural humane response to suffering.

Just finished reading the new Harry Potter book. Was Way too predictable. And boring. Right now I'm reading a little of America the Book (by Jon Stewart and the Daily Show). Very entertaining. 😀

The Cold War; A Military History by David Miller

and

The Last Word - Questions and Answers from the New Scienctist

They are both great reads, the latter for more general interest reading and the former if you have a particular interest in history/the cold war/or a thirst for knowledge.

'Brains in a Vat', an article in the Stanford Encyclopaedia of Philosophy. Interesting read for those interested in some of the basic (and not so basic) philosophy behind The Matrix:

Just finished Alas Babylon by Pat Frank. I had read it many years ago, but it was worth another go. I've just started Insomnia by Stephen King.
