Luckily I had been at the library just before I got sick. So I used the time in bed to read (or start reading - I am not even half through yet) Günter Grass, "Die Blechtrommel" (The Tin Drum), which I have wanted to read for years. I find it a little hard to read, as it contains endless visual descriptions, and I am a very non-visual person. But it gave me some strange dreams.

BTW, if you're thinking of answering "I'm reading this thread right now, nyuk nyuk". Let me be the first to tell you that you are an unfunny a$$hole who deserves to be horsewhipped and peed on.
...[text shortened]... kets" by Craig Thompson. A highly enjoyable graphic novel for those with a sensitive side. 😉

I love his art. Not too sure about his most recent exhibition, though.

I just finished A Feast For Crows by George R.R. Martin. It wasn't up to snuff (due to it only being half a story) with the rest of the series. I have no idea what to read next, perhaps Beowulf?

I finished A Feast for Crows a couple of weeks ago. After anticipating its release for ages, I'm not going to buy any more of his Fire and Ice books until they are all finished.

I've read just about every one of his short stories, but for the first time dipping into the novel "Of Human Bondage" by Somerset Maugham and already I'm depressed.

For some reason, I _didn't_ get depressed while reading this book. I related to the resiliency of the main character in his pursuit to find himself and extricate himself from bondage. Give it time.

Which one is that? I thought the drops in museums and stuff were very clever. The street rats are brilliant too.

Quote from the book:

"I'd been painting rats for three years before someone said 'that's clever it's an anagram of art' and I had to pretend I'd known that all along"

🙂

I'm also proud to have taken a photo of one of his 'This is not a photo opportunity' pieces before I had ever heard of him.
