The Responder, a 6-part UK cop show set in Liverpool. Themes: mental health, corruption. Very gritty. Remarkable performance by the versatile Martin Freeman [The Office, Fargo, Sherlock Holmes The Hobbit].

If you liked the televisual sensibilities of Narcos, I suggest you give Snowfall a try: the arrival of rock cocaine in LA in the 1980s.

One of the best cop procedurals [intertwined with the characters' private lives] I've seen for some time, also set in LA, is Southland.

This is Going to Hurt. UK dark comedy about an overrun NHS hospital. Gritty, quirky, funny.

Not much on the movies, just cartoons and "get in touch with your feelings" selections like I Wanna Dance With Someone (yawn) waiting for a good action flick or murder mystery. I might try Netflix again -

"Smile" (Only about a third of the way through. Kind of a "winky" movie with its color-grading and camera moves.)

Three more episodes to slog through in "Alice in Borderland" S2.

Might need to watch some more "Midnight Diner" as a salve to my soul.

Richard II (2012) from the BBC's adapation of a dozen Shakespeare plays collectively called The Hollow Crown. Excellent. Stars Ben Whishaw who was more recently in A Very English Scandal and This Is Going To Hurt.

Do you or anyone else know if there is a way on Netflix to make it so foreign movies that I have to read don’t show up? Drives me nuts! With so many it takes forever to find a movie I can actually watch and not have to read.

Netflix Support might know. Have you asked them?
