What bothers me is...

I hate it when i have forced mate in a couple of moves or am about to win massive material or queen a pawn, and instead of moving and facing their defeat, my opponent just lets the time run out. FACE YOUR DOOM YOU INSIGNIFICANT MAGGOT, I WILL HAVE WHAT IS MINE!!!

But having to wait 14 days to start a new game is ridiculous.

Think of it this way: he has fourteen days to put up with looking at a galling mini-map of his inevitable defeat, and you have fourteen days to gloat. It isn't a bad deal.
