I'd just read the story of yet another Catholic pedophile ring. It was resounding in my head.

It’s a most dreadful thing to happen to a child with far reaching consequences that the sick minds of some cast a shadow of doubt on so many innocent others.

I would say that being kidnapped, raped, murdered and dumped in a plastic bag is the most dreadful thing that can happen to a child. And the many innocent others such as parents and family who suffer a lifetime of agonising grief and loss are infinitely more in a shadow than a chap who can’t lead a scout group.

But I remember you vehemently arguing that a person who committed this actual crime should be released back into society on the basis that a parole board felt he was rehabilitated from his “sick mind”.

Indescribable terror for young children, left to no mercy in places with sick minds. I know what you mean - you just can't stop thinking about it.

I see the beginning of a grey, cloudy day right now, and soon I will see myself making coffee and sandwiches for a couple of ex-colleagues - we worked together at Volvo Cars many years ago. A pleasant and unexpected reunion.
