@moonbus saidOnce upon a time I expressed the view in SF that if you were truly an atheist you would be absolutely persuaded that your final seconds were your final seconds. As such I believe it wouldn't matter to you what thoughts went through your mind or were expressed by you, as long as they got you through the process of dying. As such apparent deathbed conversion could be a phenomenon within true atheism.
It seems to me that a true atheist is one who is born and dies in the state of lacking belief in a deity. someone who becomes a theist at any point is simply a theist; it doesn’t matter whether conversion happens on his deathbed or decades before.
Arguing that it was reasonable to express this view resulted in pages of trolling and indeed that was the reason this thread was started, since Dive holds the belief it is evidence of some deep seated character flaw.
I will not discuss this further in a public site, since I was in part making sense of the recent death of my father in that post, but feel free to PM if you would like to discuss this further.
@moonbus saidThe relevant back story is the extraordinary grudge he has held ever since he got so flustered on that thread.
@Relentless-Red
I did not realize there was a long backstory. Thanks for the clarification.
@relentless-red saidNo it didn't. It resulted in you starting an entire thread dedicated to you trolling the people in front of whom you got so bent out of shape.

@moonbus saidThe 'true atheist is one who becomes a theist before he or she dies' theory would be somewhat akin to saying 'the true Christian is one who becomes an atheist just before he or she dies'. These are not the sorts of things I would be doubling down on, nor would I be lashing out at those advising me not to double down.

-Removed-Have you ever been on your deathbed?
Then how do you know what people are thinking on theirs? You don't.
You just don't miss an opportunity to attack Red. It's like your favorite thing to do, right after attacking me, as you did in the first line of this post.
So much for principle and integrity.. I'm not even sure you know what they mean, given how you call everyone who disagrees with you "unprincipled". You're so desperate to claim that he's the one gaslighting and sealioning, despite your stunning record of such here, just because your panties are still in a twist over his threads suggesting that you are exactly what people say you are.
And then you start this thread with the express purpose of attacking him, without admitting it. Again, so much for principle and integrity.
And how many more times do you intend to remind everyone how long you've been here? Because to most, it is seeming like much, much longer. Too long, in fact. You could leave tomorrow, and no one would miss you.
