It's not worth arguing with Ravello about anything.

What are you on about?

She was speaking to MoldyCrow, not to me.

I know you don't like me but at least find an apparent reason to attack me.

It could be because English is not Ravello's first language, while you are a native speaker, as far as I know, so you should know better.

What's wrong with unwarranted attacks? πŸ˜‰

I have my doubts that he has a first language, besides Rude©.

So, should I assume then that people learning a new language will not appreciate being corrected, to further their understanding?

You're talking about Ravello here.

Well, I was sort of criticising Moldy's remark anyway. And I'm sure one of the many things Ravello doesn't appreciate is having his English corrected.

Actually I always try to get people to correct me, with little success. But many people may rather feel discouraged or offended when they try to write in a foreign language as good as they can, and then someone comes and corrects them. Anyway, I am not talking about what Ravello might or might not appreciate, but about Moldy's possible motives for not correcting him. Many people see it as impolite to correct someone who is writing in a language which is not his/her first language.

Well, to be honest, I am a little disappointed. From what I have read, he has quite the reputation for being rude. While I found him, in this thread, to be severely mistaken (in my opinion) he did not come through as "rude".

I have been Ravelloed, and found it very unsatisfying.

People are so easily offended.
What is it like, I wonder, to tiptoe through life?
