Does becoming qualified as a psychiatrist involve shadowing a real mental health professional during their busy periods followed by 6 months online learning and hanging a certificate on the wall?

If a reply perpetuates a process rather than causing change, should you reply or leave?

And would it matter if I sincerely believed I was making quality patient observations or would it be fantasy just the same? I'm asking anybody who reads this and naming nobody.

I've no first-hand experience of becoming a qualified psychiatrist but am sure (after years of study) it would involve a period of shadowing, ongoing training (online and in the workplace) and would result in a certificate one could hang on the wall to evidence they were indeed qualified to practice.

Why bring up such a topic? I would think a man of your age would be more interested in philately or numismatism.

I’m completely agree with you, especially with the “years of study” addition, which could be expanded to years of study to become a medical doctor followed by years of study to become a registered psychiatrist.

And of course maybe the odd 6 months course, and even a certificate, wall hung or otherwise presented.

Look, if this feels like your time to get well, this is the time to do it.

Becoming a psychiatrist involves going to med school and becoming a medical doctor.

Becoming a psychologist, on the other hand, requires going to graduate school and obtaining a Ph.D. in psychology.

You know, just so you know.

One can't help but wonder, however, why you've decided to post this in the Spirituality Forum.

No need to apologise; not for that anyway 🙂

I don't know, it was enough to get FMF to re-consider his double-fisted attack.

It would have been better though, if I'd beaten his post by seconds instead of the other way 'round.

I just asked you a question - which immediately became obsolete. It's odd that you describe it as an "attack" and a "double-fisted" one.
