Across shoulder, down back then swam into smaller shoal and got stung on forearms.
Crawled onto beach in agony.
Still got scars after 35 years.

I dropped an axe on my foot while chopping wood for my fireplace when I was living in England. It wasn't a pretty sight. It was late at night and I got turned away from the first hospital I went to. After some skilled sewing I still have my foot, with a large scar.
Still, I agree with Shallow Blue. I'll take any wound over a broken heart.

Physical pain: passing a kidney stone, and what a relief when it passed.
Mental pain: living with someone I love who is mentally ill; a pain which waivers but never passes.
Moral pain: watching a great nation go to war for all the wrong reasons, again, despite being warned not to.
Spiritual pain: suffering the presumption of those who think they know God's Great Plan for me &/or the universe.

Labour pains, which felt like a vice around the lower abdomen and an ear abscess
which was agonising until it burst with a mush like warm custard and jam.
