I read in today's news that Trump wants to take control over Greenland and declares that he will not hesitate to take military and economical steps to get his way. What is wrong with these men? What gives them the right to do things like this, and don't they ever get enough?

unfortunately America does not have snap elections

The people living there don't want it to happen and they have a say too. That should be enough, I think. Denmark may be able to sell land but they can't sell people.

Actually HItler was not. The parliament was dysfunctiona and the Reichspräsident (Hindenburg) appointed Hitler. Some of the guys back then thought they could control him.
The elections after the fire on the Reichstag were not fair ...and even then the NSDAP didn't get a majority. And then the parliament voted for Hitler to get all the power (Reichsermächtigungsgesetz).
