FWIW, you are more likely to cut yourself with a duller knife than a sharp knife.

We got a Ronco knife block set we saw on tv late at night years ago.
Pretty inexpensive and still perform great.

When working with a dull knife that doesn't cut well things can go wrong. If the knife is sharp, you only cut what you're aiming at.

Yeah, long time no see to tmetzler

Exactly. Dull knifes are more likely to slip and take a slice off of you instead of the food you are attempting to cut. I gotta funky shaped finger tip from when I learned that particular lesson. 🙁

right back at ya both, took a long break from here; but back home again.

It's easier than you think.

4 clicks and they're GONE, leaving only possibly a small blood stain...

Also, if you do cut yourself with a sharp knife, it's a clean cut which bleeds well and heals well. When you cut yourself with a blunt knife, you get a less clean cut, which takes longer to heal and doesn't bleed nicely, so it tends to gum up, and it leaves a scar which itches and aches for weeks.
