@montymoosesaid I recycle scrap metal for cash so glad to take it. 😛
I know a guy goes around with a big cage built on his truck and collects fridges, stoves, etc., of people wanting to get rid of it. Claims he makes roughly 500.00 a day doing it. Takes it all to the scrap metal yard.

Now that we have a lot of here. People use their stuff until it disintegrates into garbage, so very little need for garage sales.
Must be on the metric system? On a good day I can get $150 USD.
Sometimes it is not the metal but other things you find. Lots of cookware and dishes picked up that I hand out to friends, family, and neighbors. Cast iron skillets that are perfectly useable with a little clean-up.
Since I live near a University town, I often see people throwing away things because Mom and Dad paid for it and the kids don't care.
Best one day haul was some textbooks people were going to throw away. I put up a sign that I would recycle them. For about 2 hours work, I made $320 USD.

Hey,
I believe what you say. I don't know what reason he would have to lie to me about it. He is on the go every day from about 5:00a.m. until about 6:00-7:00 p.m. every day 6 days a week. Sometime nights he works later. He is averaging about 14-16 hr. days for 6 days a week.
the massive corrosion of the bucket
was the cause of a trip to nantucket
sand and salt all over the ground
miles and miles of satin brown
i had little choice but to chuck it

Yes, there are folks who work a lot harder than me and they deserve all that they get. In big time scraping it is important to have contacts at the industrial level to get a consistent volume that can be picked up and converted to cash quickly. As a small time guy, beer money and taking the wife out to eat is reward enough.
Edit: I never thought we would be discussing scraping at RHP. 😛
