Here is a classic. The sound quality is remarkably good, considering that it was recorded live in 1947. I couldn't find this version anywhere on youtube, so I just slapped some pictures together and put the music with that.

Ah. Blues. I'm not a fan, but still, the trombone play is excellent.

I grew up not being able to sleep until about 3am when Dad would finally decide he'd had enough Cutty Sark to drink, and take the needle off the record, which inevitably contained Big Band music within its grooves; often the exquisite refrains of one Tommy Dorsey.

Unable to recover from just 3 or 4 hours of sleep, I missed the bus at least twice a week and had to walk several miles to school.

Good times.

That qualifies as a bona fide thread killer.

Not that this miserable thread needed the extra push downward, but, that contribution is sure to accelerate this thread's downward spiral into oblivion.

I can truly sense that a portion of my life's energy and essence was somehow absorbed by that presentation and as a result I am slightly, yet permanently limited in my capacity for happiness.

I find myself curiously attracted in the direction of that butcher knife on the kitchen counter.

"No static at all..."

The movie was only so-so, but it had a great soundtrack.

Didn't you say it was from FM, you know, the movie?

Steely Dan did a tune called "FM" that was for the movie. My quote was from that song.

No, FM stands for Fleetwood Mac. It's a Fleetwood Mac song. 😛

I assume you are saying you like music by Alison Krauss & Union Station? Which song?

I just googled around and "Man of Constant Sorrow" looks like one of their best.

Meanwhile, to cleanse my palate, I think I'll give this one a listen.

Great song & Great video!
