The original Dr. Who was my hero as a small child and nothing at all about that show was silly or naff!

Of the new ones, I've only seen "Dalek". Christopher Eccleston is a good actor; I don't know why he got mixed up in that.

Anyway, on the topic, the nastiest sci-fi villains are the Killers in Greg Bear's "Anvil of Stars".

Daunting, no doubt. He/she/it had some cool tech, as well. On the other hand, the aliens had acid for blood and that nasty, retractable second jaw.

predators aren't evil though. they're pretty fair with their hunting philosohy. and aliens are simply following their natural life cycle, with no malice. both very scary of course, but not evil.
