rap and hip hop blow, not even music, really, just vulgar nonsense with a lot of profanity, extolling a thuggish lifestyle, making heros out of low life morons who'll never do anything but bounce in and out of prison.

R&B's good.

Agreed. Rap=Urghh! 😞

The most awful thing I heard the other day was a [apparently popular] British girl trying to sound like a US rapper - it was effin ridiculous, and horrible.

I don't personally care for rap or hip hop. I don't find the musical style particularly compelling or enjoyable, and I think the lyrics are ill-though out, shallow, and irrelevant. I much prefer songs I can get stuck in my head, and lyrics that I can relate to.

Traditional R&B is excellent. Many present day rock and alternative bands are influenced by old R&B.

How can anyone say that rap is music when they don't even sing.

the definition of music: poetry with music in the background doesn't matter what the sound.

Sound matters to me!

Music is simply food for the ears. If your ears and mind can consume the sound, it is music. If your ears like the taste, it is good music.

I'll listen to R&B a little bit. Don't listen to rap much more, seeing what rappers like Ying Yang Twins and Mike Jones have done to it.
