Ok Ok I will tell you.
I was peeved that someone could pm me and irritate me so much by accusing me of cheating and got the impression that there might be a general discussion going on and the pm was the culmination of a group of people discussing me.
Not wishing to get a bad name i thought the best way to deal with such gossip was to face it down.
As it happens it seems to be a lone voice (or his/her commrades have gone to ground like all gossips do when challanged).
It seems i have made an error in working hard, giving lots of time to my chess and building a strong graph.
I should have made it less susipicious and lost a few games on the way up.
Now i appear to be B*gg*red whatever I do.
If i loose games now or allow them to time out (which i will as i have left all the hard ones running for the longest time) I will suddenly be an intelligent 'tactical' cheater.
If i carry on playing hard and my graph increases much more my fate will be sealed.
The only solution for me it seems is to have someone in authority give me a clean bill of health...
But that is not going to happen as the moderators prosecute the guilty not defend the innocent.

And because i was not really convincing the guy who pm'd me and still have not, he asked me for a game played one move and then deleted it.
I have come accross this sort of thing before (the whispering campaign)... in fact it is the mainstay of nearly every soap plot. When i see it happening on the small screen i always think ' tell someone ... talk about it... dont fall into that age old trap of non communication'

It's like going fishing, catching nothing, and then declaring that are no fish in the lake.
Perhaps there are no fish in this particular lake. But only the player in question can know this for certain.
Which is why this kind of thread is so counter-productive.
If someone calls you a cheat, either ignore it, or make a complaint to the Site Admins. There's no way a public forum is going to absolve you of guilt. All this is going to do is to associate your name with cheating, and provide much needed entertainment for the forumites.

But i have just looked up this tommybear character and i presume that he was banned for cheating in the end?
It seems there are disturbing parrallels between my intention to counter some gossip and the afore mentioned tommybears protestations.

I know you aren't tommybear/fritz - his writing was better 😉
