all kidding aside, batman and the joker were secret lovers in the insane asylum, and that's why batman never killed the joker all those times because they would 'make up' when the joker was in jail

But batman had the penguin, he could have offed the previous villians. he'd have to sleep in he always dose his hero stuff int he dead of night so he must be tired and everyone needs a little r and r.

Nobody cares about the Penguin. It's all about the joker when it comes down it to. Once he's gone, Batman would just hand the keys to some inferior 'hero' and call it a day.

Batman doesn't need sleep. He's Batman.
