I must admit to some of the same feelings. When I heard O'Reilly crying in his beer over his "portfolio" taking a hit, I realized that this was mainly a problem for the very rich. For example, what do I care if the gov't insures my accounts at over 100K or 250K? This stuff primarily affects the very rich---so, I'm mildly elated 😏

This effects more than just the rich. It affects pretty much anyone with a 401K.

Shows how well you been indoctrinated by the Democrats, liberals etc into the cult of class envy. If you think people with 100K in the bank are the very rich, what about those who actually put some money into savings year after year and get a fairly decent nest egg .... are they the 'very rich'? How about small businesses?

When you think very rich..yer thinking yer hero John Edwards and his 6 million dollare house.... right?

no need for nasty partisanship. That is what continues to tear at our nation.

wealth is relative. $100k is extremely wealthy for 90% of the country

I work in investments for a living. The company I work for is the place to be, but I'm not going to reveal that information to you. 😛

If you bought $1000 of Wachovia six months ago your return would be zero. Same with Lehman Brothers and the others.
However, if you bought $1000 worth of beer in aluminum cans, drank it, returned the cans to the recycle for cash you would have $212
That plan is called the 401 Keg

Well, I don't have to worry about money anymore 😀

Mr Peter Wong has sent me an email today, offering a 50/50 share of 44.5 million USD that was left in his bank by an Iraqi man who had no next of kin when he died.

What's up your a$$? I don't even LIKE John Edwards! He cheated on his wife, y'know.
