He just could not be sure that the chess board - and even the table on which it stood - really existed. I think that this must explain any victory I myself have had against more highly rated players, not to mention the way the Pakistan cricket team lost to Ireland

The intelligent-est people don't bother themselves playing chess.
The intelligent people who do play chess realize it has nothing to do with intelligence.
The people who are good at chess and think this makes them intelligent are actually the dumbest of the lot.
