Why don't people use conditional moves?

I mean, if my opponent play QxQ, and now his Q is right next to my king, guess what I'm going to do? I'm going to recapture your Q! If my opponent would then put in a conditional move, it would save a little time and help the game progress a little quicker. But almost no one uses them. WHY?

They take great pleasure in irritating you.

Only dancing robots use conditional moves.
