We all seem to have wandered off track a bit here. My main gripe was non pawn stars keep accepting open invites clearly titled "Pawn stars only please" If a person cannot afford to pay the $15 thats cool, i dont have a problem with that.

yep. $15 US is equivalent of 30-40 dollars Australian. I only get 60 bucks a month for working my butt off around the house... and paulie, thanx for not slagging off.

Well, even if they officially do not have the right to complain, I dont that will stop them from running their mouths. (Only kidding D43MON).

And yes, you are right IvanHoe. $15 is a lot in some areas. I wasnt thinking to deeply at the time of post.

I apologize to anyone I may have offended with this statement.

very true and well put, ivanhoe!

russ and chris are just great! They do not want to turn away those who cannot, for whatever reason, justify the membership fee (this may include students who can't afford the fee, kids whose don't have an allowance, or even occasional players who play so rarely they don't feel it appropriate to spend the money).

i think it is fine that people only want to play pawn stars and i think it is fine to not pay until you really are ready to pay. that much is a personal choice.

what is important is that we acknowledge russ and chris for their inclusive spirit that brings the world a little closer together through chess.

in friendship,
prad

I must have missed something.

Where did the idea come from that non-paying members do not have the right to complain?

All members have equal access to the forum, and are allowed to express themselves without regard to whether they are a paying or non-paying member. It's been like that for as long as this site offered a forum.

I didnt really mean anything by that. Just a jab at some of my non-star friends, not meant to be taken seriously.

I can see how it was misconstrued by people who do not know me.

Again, I sincerely apologize to the folks I have offended.

I have tried to set up personal games with members and used their names in the title of the game like "Orky Boy Only Please Unrated Game Good Luck" and such... Next thing you know someone else jumps in.

I just delete the game if I so desire... or play them if I find them interesting.

Yes, I am sure Many people here don't speak english, and I am proud of the people who have English as a second language.... good for them just to be able to learn a second one... I have enough trouble with the first.

I cannot wholeheartedly agree with you, Ivan. All the flags that I see on this site are American, European, Australian, South African, etc. I don't see any Haitian, Indian (India), Bangladesh, Laotian or many third world countries represented on this site. I could be wrong, ask Royal Chicken. I think if one can afford a computer, one can put up the $15.00. I think a little less spending on cigarettes, booze, chasing poon-tang, CDs and other diversionary crap will allow the average dude, bloke, monsuer, freulein or illegal alien from Mexico to be able to contribute to this site...this is just my humble opinion...have a nice day...Semper Paratus...😵

I don't completly agree with you "chancremechanic." There are many kids who cannot pay the fee but want to join (or play) at RHP

PS. The computer is not theirs but one of their parents. The parent bought the computer only because needed it for their work.😠

Aren't we reasoning from the specific to the general today....

Tell your parents to send a check and reimburse them in cash.

What about schoolkids who play in school.
People who play in libraries or at work.

I talked to people from third world countries about joining RHP and they told me that
such an amount of money ( 15 $ ) would still be difficult for them to spend on a subscription for a chess site ...
