You may be right, lets forget about Vidic because he also plays for United.

Are there any other central defense players in the whole of the premier league beter than him?

King maybe and don't say Carra.

So United get beat by Bolton.
Great, last time we played Bolton Rooney got a hattrick.

Not sure why Ronaldo was rested, at least most of our team won't be playing in Europe this summer.

Also why did Ferguson rest Anderson when he's been playing so well in midfield this season!

Don't worry lads, Rooney is back for our next league game, thank god.
United were brutal in the first half. They showed no desire, and absolutely no cohesion or skill. Bolton turned the game into a war and won. I can't say I like their style of football, but I guess you gotta admire their tenacity and aggression.

Carrick was terrible, Pique wasn't ready for such a battle, Nani was brutal and Saha wasn't at the races.

United are most likely to lose immediately after a big result in Europe or after a big international break, when Fergie feels forced into resting a number of players.

Liverpool were good today, they finally passed the ball in a game, although Newcastle weren't much of a challenge. Gerrard was great, and Torres should have had about 4. His play was superb, until it came to the shot.

They were pretty good against Fulham today and they had great fluidity in the midfield has well. They just weren't taking the chances before Torres was brought in.

Come on, that far more perceptive than David Pleat.

Rooney is a good player. He is strong and he has desire. He has a great range of skills.

But he is fat and ugly, he whinges like his club manager.

Anyway, can you tell me what a player's looks have to do with their ability or how they are rated?

Here's a thread which I'll rededicate to you and rhb.

45 Goals in 107 games for Man U.

Ok for a striker, but he is not THAT good.
rooney is a good player, just look at his movement and ideas. he draws defenders and sets up play very well too. hes not the best, but hes better than an okay striker.

Rooney overrated?

Well here's Diego Maradonna, the most skillful player ever.
Possibly the greatest player ever giving his thoughts on Rooney.

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_2943022,00.html

Maradonna says Rooney is better than Kaka.
Maradonna is a close friend of Tevez who plays alongside Rooney.
Maradonna knows the best players in the world and once was the best player in the world.

I think I'll side of Maradonna who states that Rooney is world class.

Not people like Trevor33 who think he's overrated and spend most of the match screaming at him.

So why exactly is Rooney overrated?

The last 2 matches Manchester United lost, Rooney was out injured.

Rooney comes on for the last 15 minutes against Villa in the FA Cup and completely changes the pace, direction and result of the game.

Rooney is probably Capello's number 1 name on Englands team sheet.

Rooney is number 1 on Sir Alex's team sheet, ask him if any of you muppets go to the game.

Wayne Rooney is the best player in the Premiership FULL STOP.

Better than:-
- Ronaldo
- Fabregas
- Drogba
- Gerrard
- Torres

If anyone here plays fantasy football, why is Rooney rated as the number 1 striker?

He's the best player in the world, just needs a run of games without injury to prove it.

Rooney is underrated.

Manchester United have lost 5 times this season, each time Rooney was not available to play.

Rooney comes back, scores and we batter Arsenal.

Rooney sometimes goes on small runs when he doesn't score and misses chances.
The thing is he always plays for the team, makes players around him play better and gets loads of assists.

Rooney is much more valuable to United than Ronaldo.

Rooney was THE man today...

He ran the Arsenal back four ragged.

On current form, Carrick is right up there too. Some of his passing and intercepting play in the past 4-5 games has been incredible.

I didn't think I'd ever say it, but Scholes shouldn't start against Lyon as he isn't match fit yet. Carrick MUST start.

I agree that Carrick has had a very good run of creative play in recent games.
What about Anderson though, he for me is the one midfield player we can't drop.

Then we've got Hargreaves.
I think because its an away game against Lyon I'd play Anderson and Hargreaves in the middle.

Also, wo do you play on the left?
Sir Alex will probably play Giggs but Nani was fantastic against Arsenal.

I really hope that Fergie does drop Scholes, match fit or not.
