Without X I wouldn't be and that's reason enough for its existance.

Sly red Focks

My name is Recks

Why was Sicks afraid of Seven?

You see....

The letters cks were writen so much, that people decided that they should just get it's own letter. Try this at home:

write the letters cks 1,000 times. Write it real fast, and work through the burn. Notice that at least 170 times it looks like an x, and it sure would save you a lot of writing.

How does switching from excellent to xcalent help in getting rid of the X? 😕

Anyway, without the letter X, the Aussies would need to be able to spell beer.

It was a mistake.
They had the idea of 26 letters and had sorted out 25 of them. Alas when looking over the penultamate alphabet, they missed that letter 24 was no letter, but just a place marker. Mistakenly believing all letters to have been assigned, X was thus created and has "marked the spot" ever since.

The letter x

In the dark damp recesses of our sad twisted noir
Floundering in the quay of a neversleeping shore
Flowing tide and gaping wounds filled with salt and sand
Beyond our borders, imaginations, and all beyond the land
The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog
The letter x is invented
An old woman cries
A dark barks but
There's nobody there
For the letter x has come to play
And take your children away
They're ugly just like you
And the x will cut on through
The creaking floor
The crying whore
With an x upon her breast
Insomnia for all the rest
Ctrl-x

'A dark barks' ?

What's a dark and is its bark worse than its night?
