The wife said we ought to watch the new series of Will & Grace (Channel 4 UK). I don't know how many series there have been before this one but it was a bit difficult to get to grips with who was who and how they relate to each other.
Anyone out there care to give me a potted history?

So they decided to be friends for life.

So what's the relationship between Will and the other gay guy? Are they an item?
And what do they all do for a living?

Will is an attorney. Gene Wilder plays his boss in later episodes. (Very funny)
Jack is an aspiring actor/department store clerk
Grace is an interior designer (I think)
The other woman (name is escaping me) is a social alcoholic/gold digger/social butterfly.
Any other questions?
Andrew, you should be ashamed! Trying to watch american trash tv. Do like me... i'm really into "Good Neighbours" right now. (notice the attempt at Brit spelling there) and my favorite tv of all time is one we get on the discovery channel now ... "Junkyard Wars" Bodgers Rule! For some reason, you Brits just make better tv than the madison avenue clowns. Long Live Brit TV! oh... Ps. Disney (which makes most of the "Will And Grace" type trash) only have one agenda. There is one show, "The Wiggles" on the disney channel that features four 20 something gay guys whose audience is 3 to 5 year old children! They "sing and dance" ... sort of... anyway. Be warned. Anything Disney will make you wish you were gay, even if you are not.:'(😲😀

Thanks folks! I will now admit that my favourite American programme has got to be 'Malcolm in the Middle'... there's just something about it that really makes me laugh. Also, because even the Americans can't hold back the ageing process, shows like that have a limited life. The Wonder Years was brilliant as well.
