Don't you have an XP licence key sticker stuck in the side of the PC?

Use the Magical Jelly Bean.

In any case, you could telephone M$ and if it's a legit upgrade they should help you out.

Maybe. 😲

But isn't Vista an OS? Why does he need both?

It is, and he is probably talking about a hardware upgrade and putting his old xp back on.

Hi reader, it's a bit slow in here today/tonight.

Is he upgrading to Vista?
If so, he will have got a serial with it surely.

I thought he was looking for his xp key.

Ah.

Yes, the silence is deafening! Mostly I'm listening to my computer chirp out blizzard warnings for tonight. I still haven't checked out the poker site πŸ˜›

IF ITS LEGAL, USE A KEYGEN.

I'm not telling you to do anything illegal, but since you can post you can google up a keygen for XP with a quickness... I don't know if that is what "magical jellybean" referred to earlier is or not, perhaps so.

XP will cease to function if you ever send error reports with a 'cracked' version, so I would recommend not using an illegal copy.

I have not been there for a while myself.

I tried that risk game, but I am too stupid so gave up.

I didnt want to mention it, but your profile could do with a bit of a tidy.

right. I just assumed he had installed vista upgrade version, which invalidates the serial of the xp the vista installer was ran on. unless you are a bit sneaky. (first install a trial vista, and only then run the installer with the vista serial again. that's two consecutive installations.)

but if the xp serial de-activated because changing hardware, contacting microsoft should sort the problem out, I think.

I think he may be stuffed, if he does go down the dark path of a keygen, and he uses live messenger or sommit like that...

I would prescribe a version of linux for his ailment, would you agree Dr.
