Going to work on the bus. Moped in front of us about 50 yds.
Travelling about 45Km/Hr.
Lorry comes from nowhere across the traffic at high speed. Just drove across without looking. Bike riders head went straight into the trailor side. Moped snapped in 2. Bus braked and there was head everywhere - no helmet.

I knew I'd see it here, but even though - I've felt sick all day. 6,000 a year die on China's roads - 45,000 serious injuries.
Never drive here!

I still feel sick....... πŸ™

Do you know if they will execute the bus driver?

Trends in collision statistics
Road toll figures show that car collision fatalities have declined since 1980, with most countries showing a reduction of roughly 50%. This drop appears to confirm the efficacy of safety measures introduced thereafter, assuming that driver behaviour has not changed significantly.

In the United States, fatalities have increased slightly from 40,716 in 1994 to 42,884 in 2003. However, in terms of fatalities per 100 million miles driven, the fatality rate has dropped 16% between 1995 and 2005. Injuries dropped 37% over the same period. (National Traffic Safety Administration, 2006)

It has been noted that road fatality trends closely follow the so-called "Smeed's law" (after RJ Smeed, its author), an empirical rule relating injury rates to the two-thirds power of car ownership levels. An analysis by John Adams can be found here.

I'm sorry, no one should have to see things like that. πŸ™

He's not saying that. But the experience was sickening. I have flashbacks all day and don't perform at work..... I just keep seeing the head.

I saw it, but it doesn't want to make me go out and campaign about bad or wreckless driving. I would achieve nothing here.

Thanks Wolfie... I'm recovering slowly......
