that food is not really known in America.
please be careful about various cultures in here when choosing a word.

@Earl-of-Trumps saidIt’s tricky. The same could be said of different sciences, hobbies, interests etc and we then end up with bland words that some of us have never used?

I’m guessing that we’ve all watched films from different cultures so I’m ok with any word tbh.
@Paul-Martin saidNo, and I recanted after I realized what I had done.
... but crosswalk is OK?

Australia spells chapatti with 2 Ts, so I'd never have got there!
America uses a lot of words that the rest of us don't, so it's difficult to satisfy everybody. I battle every day with an American word game, not with or/our words but with the idea that dorm and dino and comp are words but consecutive is not. I just recognise that the differences exist and try to stretch my mind a bit.
My post shows the language i'm working in, perhaps the rest of you could do the same.
@Kewpie saidSo if you had typed in ‘bread synonyms’ on your laptop in Australia, to help you get P.Martin’s word, would you get chapatti or chapati?

Here in the UK I get ‘chapati’. I’ve no idea where P.Martin is from.
@Drewnogal saidEarth, surely?
