I'm thinking CONCOCT or CONSORT but neither seems quite right???
It is CONSORT.

Rearranged - SORT
Trick - CON

Then vow as in marriage?
I had Camilla, Queen Consort in mind.

Couldn't see VOW clue to CONSORT.
Lucky guess.

I cannot fathom out most of the last few posts in this thread

Is some clicky group for a few select members or for a few paid people to get clicks to get revenue for the site?
Maybe someone has already explained, but this thread seems to be related to British cryptic-style crosswords.

If you're already familiar with the oblique clues that some American-style crosswords have (e.g., the harder ones in the NYT), the British cryptic style goes farther with the addition of verbal mashups and sometimes anagrams, while still making use of the double-entendres that American-style clues sometimes do.

(How'd I do, people of the Commonwealth? Did I leave out anything important?)

You’ve explained it better than I could have tbh.

Hmm. BOOTPERPS doesn't quite fit.

There are some words that I don’t get though once the answers are given I usually do.

The last answer was BOOTLEG. I gave a second clue which included ‘moon & shining’ indicating the American term ‘Moonshine’.

Do you want to take my turn and set the next word for us? Then you might feel more included.

Thank you - but no.

I'll watch and try and learn.

Also, I think a very recent development (or maybe this has happened before) is that the more adept players might post in a way that indicates that they know the answer, without ever presenting or explaining the answer -- which might seem off-putting and exclusive to anyone else who might want to join the game -- but probably in most or all cases it's just a matter of their indicating "got it" while allowing other players more time to solve it themselves. I think I'm not necessarily opposed to that.

Hmm. BOULANGERIE doesn't quite fit, letter-wise or clue-wise, and BU CUO would be too short (and would have the wrong vowel pattern).

Tricked me at first because I was looking for a cryptic answer and it is totally literal!

CORRECT

Good idea for solver or poser to explain their clue.
