@trev33 saidDifficult to judge the England performances due to lack of quality shown by Wales and Iran. Did Southgate only start flair players because Wales had had such a poor tournament? Will he revert to type against Senegal? If he does it has 0.0 written all over it, since Senegal's African Cup of Nations Journey was based around clean sheets even with Mane in the team.
Foden should be starting imo, he might give away the ball a few to many times but he also might score a couple. Him and Rashford looked much better than Stirling and mount.
Rashford and Foden seem to be hitting form at the right time, so I hope he sticks with them, but we didn't need to protect the defence by always choosing safe passes in midfield against Wales, so Senegal will probably be different given Southgate's cautious nature.
Being brutally honest Ward's position for the free kick helped Rashford. He seemed to cover the wall's half of the goal and leave his half wide open, but Rashford is definitely doing better.
