i'm so addicited to WOW that i struggle to check my games these days.I'm a level 30 undead rogue. Anyone else spending too much time on this game? It is insanely addictive and requires a lot of time to progress.

I consider all MORPGs to be computer game crack. Addictive video games are ok if they have a beginning and an end, so you can leave them content you have finished them....but MORPGs, oh man, way too dangerous. Bye bye life....weeeeeeeeeee!!!!

I've managed to stay away from WOW and Everquest 2 so far, hard as it is. I was a Star Wars Galaxies addict for a year and my entire life suffered. I must have clocked 2000 hours or so up on it and I loved every minute of it. I eventually forced myself to take a break and so far have managed to replace it with cigarettes, RHP and a lot of alcohol. Seems to be working for the moment, but if ever I come into contact with Galaxies again, I may have a relapse.

So there is an advantage of not having broadband at home - you get to keep your life! 🙂

Nope. My guild from EQ went there - they're now known as Occidium I believe. I'd like to join them but I'm not working now so I have a hard time justifying it.

I've got a friend who's been playing it for 2 or 3 weeks now.
His girlfriend is no longer welcome, he doesn't go to work and he hasn't breathed fresh air since he installed the game.

I don't know how or what he eats.

I'm an old Sierra game player, you know, the King's Quest, Space Quest stuff. I'd realy like to try one of these new games everyone raves about but don't know which one to play? Also do I have to play them on-line?

Most of them have an off-line version, although the real biggies like Everquest, World of Warcraft and Star Wars Galaxies are on-line only. I can fully recommend any of these.

If it's offline you want then there really is only one worth mentioning: Morrowind (plus its expansion packs)

My friend got WOW a month ago or so. He let me create an account and told me to feel free to come play anytime.

For some reason, my key to his place doesn't work any more. I'm sure there's no hard feelings, I mean I made them breakfast in the morning.....well, ok, pop tarts, but that's still breakfast. I didn't have time to make eggs or anything like that. I mean, you can't just stop playing or anything. Things are happening and YOU HAVE TO BE THERE!!!

I'm glad my machine's to old to run WoW cause that stuff is addictive as hell!

I hear they implemented a command that tells how long you spend online. Anyone who dares to publish their total playing time?

What about Neverwinter Nights? Never played Morrowind, but NWN is great, online or offline.

It's okay, but a little samey after 20 hours or so. Morrowind is amazing and knocks NWN into touch, graphics, gamplay, depth of plot, freedom to explore, creatures, items, it just plain rocks. I'd have given NWNs a 8/10 until I played Morrowind, now I have to recalibrate my scale, it's only a 6.
