The 80s were a setup for the explosion of electronic music that came afterwards. To say music was set back by 20 years is not realizing that this was the birth of a whole new world of possibilities.

a lot of groups were born at the end of the 70's ( British and American Punk, Techno Music ) ... but they became famous mostly at the 80's ...
c'mon if you dont realize the huge amount of good bands and songs from that era we cannot talk about this issue !
and regarding the hair style .... who cares ? from time to time human beings do stupid things ...

One of the greatest songs with the greatest intros EVER came from the 80's: One night in Bangkok by Murrayhead.

Now obviously, n ...[text shortened]... Germany started producing those god-almighty nasty propaganda hip-slappin' yoddlin' music.
The 80's weren't all bad. We got hair bands like Motley Crue and Poison. It's always easy to have a good time when "Nothin But A Good Time" comes on.
