You NEVER start a sentence with and

Regards
"And so they stood on the walls of the City of Gondor, and a great wind rose and blew, and their hair, raven and golden, streamed out mingling in the air. And the Shadow departed, and the Sun was unveiled, and light leaped forth; and the waters of Anduin shone like silver, and in all the houses of the City men sang for the joy that welled up in their hearts from what source they could not tell."

The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien.

and in the end, the love you take
is equal to the love you make

lennon/mccartney

and in summary,
i will never begin a statement with the word, "and"

Men are less likely to see color than women?

Or what do you think it means, since it seems like you think you know?
Can you read? Did you not actually read the post you replied to?

And he was a linguist, so perhaps he gets it.

Good choice of example.

Sorry that I answered the way that I did up there in the second post.

Sometimes I skip a few steps and don't "show my work" (as some math teachers have scolded me in my youth).

I don't think any kind of "hazing" should be part of welcoming someone who wants to post in General, but we do have some characters here, some of them perhaps self-important because of their sit ...[text shortened]... ffense.

Executive summary: the appearance of hazing might be inadvertent, but no less deplorable.
You were obviously not here in the early days.

Forum combat was a thing and it amassed casualties.

You're crying about what compares as a golden age.

You're not even that golden.

She likes to play the entitled victim. In her mind all men are a$$hats.
My, aren't we the entitled victim.

Please put down the bottle and step away from the keyboard.

Any other way we could help?
Yeah, quit publicly adopting views which are not your own.

Saw your other reply, it was better... I didn't alert it btw.

As a kid I read so many of his books I would often wake up shouting things like "Hobbit!", "Gandalf!", and "Mordor!"

Yep, I was Tolkien in my sleep.

Just curious; why would you want to hide the fact you are on-line and making moves by turning it off?
my mind began to wander
it does this all the time, and i am delighted

i decided to upgrade my lil green dot
it's onna ten minute (metric) timer and dims from bright to translucent over those minutes
so i shrank my avatar, and right where the "online and moving" indicator light is normally located, my shrunken avatar shows a stoned caterpillar telling alice a joke she does not get

lol
teeny tiny

edit
take it to philosophy, socrates

There are three ways to tell if I’m ‘online’

1) I make a post
2) I make a chess move
3) My rating goes down a few points

Lol.

Being able to laugh at yourself is a sign of a healthy psyche.
