This thread had such a good start, maybe a second wind could help?

The point in writing poetry is to take metaphors and put them into a rhythmic scheme, they sound more powerful that way. If the metaphors are not well-used they also create sometimes strange effects:

You are my castle when I need comfort
you are the spring that makes me hop
you are the tear that is in my eye
just you being there makes my day
