I like Bach's keyboard music better than his orchestral music.
Preludes and Fugues are my favorite, and his organ music

Haydn - Cello
Arnold Bax - Cello
Rachmoninov - Piano Concertos
Samuel Barber - Piano, Violin
Khatchatorian Violin
Prokofiev - Piano

Great Question.

I don't know. I await the answer.

Do you know what famous American symphony served as the trailer theme to the Sci Fi picture Alien?

It was Howard Hanson's Romantic Symphony (#2). After all the Alien mayhem the peacefulness of Hanson's theme was a most fitting conclusion. I suspect the number of people who recognized it I ...[text shortened]... from all the horrors of the Alien.

Better yet go buy Howard Hanson's Romantic Symphony.
Sounds good, I'll seek it out. The Eisenstein question is one I've posted many times before even on classical music sites and no-one seems to know - it's peculiar because the strain is classic Shostakovich, parody and bombast and a slightly sinister violin piece.
