Have you considered sleeping with his wife? It doesn't solve anything but it would add insult to injury once you fire him. Make sure to take lots of pictures, grainy ones if she isn't attractive.

I suspect a cattle prod to the testicles may be the best solution... at least, I'll feel better.
Good point. Hey HoH, think of it this way; if the guy's costing you money and aggrivation, might as well get some fun out of it. You've got him by the short-curlies. Enjoy!

Almost a year ago I hired a 21 year old kid as a temp employee for a shipping/receiving job. He worked fairly hard, with his main problems being a questionable level of maturity. He's married with one kid and literally just had another (which may or may not be his as his wife is somewhat of a whore, but, that's beside the point).

As it is his card, corporate or not, he is financially responsible for it. American Express has no sense of humor and will castrate him if he does not pay them in a timely manner. Plus, I will still expect him to make purchase, pay for hotels, and cover other expenses regardless of whether or not they cut him off. He'll be sleeping in a box under an overpass on his next field job at this rate.

It is embarassing though. Each new hire is a refelection on the person that hired him/her. Over and over I am surprised at how many people blow off and/or take for granted their opportunities as if they have infinite second chances. For example, my secratary is out for the week and I've gone through three temps as I can't find one that will show up two days in a row. Damn loser slackers....
I guess I can't blame the loser slacker mentality prevalent in the US, it is, afterall, the American Dream to be live life in a potato like state where all your needs are easily met. Damn potatoes... I need to hire some Mexicans, those SOB's know how to work.
