What a load of balls I say.
Big Golden Balls at that
That head-butt might not have been politically correct, but for Zidane to lash out like that you can safely say that Materazzi said something truly horrific.
And even that headbutt was beautifully executed, like so much of everything else that Zidane does on the field.
He's made my top 5 best footballers ever list!

I hope the grease ball drowns in his bolognese.
EDIT:
Was that a racist comment? Mhmmmm... I don't really know. I hope it was just coincidence that I called an Italian a grease ball. I wouldn't want anybody thinking that I think every Italian is a grease ball. That's just not the case. I can think of plenty of Italians who aren't greasy. Well, one anyways...

Why on earth would Zidane headbutt him for that?
Surely you see the folly in that?
From the BBC:
"He told me Materazzi said something very serious to him but he wouldn't tell me what," agent Alain Migliaccio told BBC Radio Five Live.
Sources in France say it is believed Materazzi insulted Zidane's mother.

Cannavaro and Pirlo were far better than him.
So was Buffon.
They played well consistently.
Zidane was anonymous in the group stages.

I feel Zidane gets it for who he is,not for his play in this tournament.
Who else? How about Gattuso?Cannavaro?Pirlo?Buffon?Vieira(throughout the tournament more determing for France than Zidane)?
The prize is for the most valuable player of the tournament, not for some great player's wonderfull career.
If they want to honour Zidane for his career, which he certainly deserves, they can give him another award.Allthough I have to say that headbutt was the most stylish one I've ever seen 😀
