So what if he insulted his mother.

It was obviously a tactic to rile him.

Zidane is an idiot for taking the bait.

I don't care what was said.

Materazzi is one of the dirtiest players in the world and was obviously trying to instigate something.

He succeeded, Zidane got sent, Italy won the match.

You don't get red cards for chirping other players.

You certainly do for headbutts!

I would prefer it if the game wasn't so heavily influenced on the acting skills of the players.

i have to hand it to those soccer players, they are good actors as well as having skills. they lie on the floor for minutes with an ankle tap, with a full on headbut he got up pretty quick😏

Ignore the sour grapes, nobody even in Italy is saying Italy are squeaky clean, but we won. Anybody who doesn't like that is welcome not to, as far as I'm concerned.

Me too, but Zidane's headbutt would have been worth a red card even had he not made contact. The nature of the gesture in itself is not something we want in this game.

Nah, Italian TV showed a Zidane Half Hour after the game, stamps, headbutts, red mist galore. This was tame by comparison.

Disclaimer, it only lasted half an hour because they kept repeating it.

If so, Materazzi will surely be banned for ages because of the whole racism in football thing.

That would probably have hit a nerve.
