Oh, so provocation excuses any physical reactions? You're right, what ever was I thinking? Why don't we open the doors of the world's prisons? I'm sure they were provoked.
I only tried to give a suitable explanation, knowing both Zidane and Materazzi because they played in Serie A.
Materazzi is an ass and Zidane a true sportsman, but I'm not justifying what he did.
However I'm sure that if a random guy in the street says to you "F*** you idiot!!" you'd reply saying "thanks sir, pleased to meet you".

I must say that Zidane when playing inItaly was a really correct player and Materazzi is a complete moron.
He surely said something to make Zidane go berserk.
With Zidane, they would have had a much greater chance to win the penalties (or even score beforehand)

And also that although both are deserving of the red card, both were quite harmless to the other player. Zidane's headbutt is to the chest and Figo's is hardly a headbutt, more like pressing his head against the other guy's head (no impact).
No, you're missing the point. The sad part is that there are two players that it could be, so you couldn't tell who I was talking about simply with that information.
Maybe you don't understand the pressure during these world cups.

Fact is that they both could have walked away from it if they really wanted to. They're meant to be professionals, they know that there's camera's watching their every move and nothing will go unpunished these days.
Originally posted by Daemon SinI didn't say there was an excuse. Red card, do the time, that's it.

B!tching about non-sportmanship by these two players is forgetting their careers.
