Zidane has lost alot of the respect I had for him over his career after tonight of all nights. It doesn't matter if someone says something to you that you don't like, you shouldn't react like he did, there's no excuse for it. I backed Italy before the tournament and I am glad they won, they played as a team throughout the tournament and deserved to win overall. Not a good match, but a good result. Also penalties were good for a change.

Thats what you get when you have an Arab as a captain!
You're either joking or a complete bigot.
In fact, the only thing it MIGHT have to do with it is if Materazzi's remarks had a racist slant to them. If so, I hope he gets banned for quite a while.
Originally posted by Sicilian SmaugI agree he lost the argument, but I guess if he was again in that situation he would do same. Just because he is a proud man, and men don´t want to win arguments, they want to beat the guy up who abused them.
OK, so real men, headbutt when people call them names? Who won this argument? Matterazi! He stayed on the field and his team won the World Cup! I'm sorry that Zidane, of all people could lose his head at such an important moment. Don't try make out he's the man for the headbutt, that's just silly.
It would have been better if he had ignored him, but I´m still not sad that he hit him.
