You have entered into a contract, so you must continue to play chess here. It is the law.
You do not have the option of simple not returning to the site. People have tried this, and the result was simply too horrible to describe.

Yes, it is of course possible.
If you tell your current opponents that you are about to leave and give up the games in progress, no one will wonder about your absence.
Your membership however will remain open so you can come back whenever you want.
