The ladder game has started. Your opponent is playing white and has moved. (1. d4, ...) it appears that it is your move.
In the open invite game your opponent is playing white and has not moved so far. If you get tired of waiting for white to move, you should have the option to delete that game.

Good to see you back on the site.
You can see it in his game list although not straightaway.
If you click "view games" from his full profile and you can either go to page 53 and it is there at the bottom as "unstarted" or click "games in progress" then "search" and it is there without all the completed games in the way.
