I love the tactics of this attack and used to have a book on it.

I have lost the book and can't find another one.

Does anyone know of any books on this attack and where I can get them?

this Site may come in Handy then: -

As for your Grob, I would advise NOT playing it here.

The main "power" of the Grob is its "supprise"

however, seeing as we are allowed to use opening books your grob will be easily refuted

    I suppose so! I haven't looked at on-line databases.
Still have a thing about books being better than computers and easier to use.

But I will give the Grob a try and if it loses so be it.

At least I will improve for OTB play!

Definately hairy although perhaps not the traditionally expected Grob attack.

My only Grob so far is

    Game 2188091

    won on a timeout.

This game made me decide I really need to refresh my knowledge.

I think I have saved the final position but can I now win it other than the way I did? Why did he let it time out?

    Your view appreciated.

    Black should of won.

    His error was 19.g2

    Instead, Nc5+ Kd4 (only move) Nf5#

g2 allows Kxd5, and g2 also hinders the queens movement.

as for the end position, I still think Black is better, simply because White's King is out in the open, and its far from a cozy endgame

Absolutely. 19 .. g2?? was a blunder but I think the White King can get to safety in this final position after KXB. Can black force a win (a couple of pawns is forcing enough)?

In the FINAL POSITION, I don't think a "Forced win" is in that position, however, I would say that black has ample compensation for the material....

I always thought 1.g4 to be a horrible move... my brother played it against me once and after first expressing doubt I then proceeded to stomp him into the ground.
