I want a serious answer to some questions:

First, what in the hell is your problem?

Second, do you speak in the third person too?

Third, do you realize that EVERYBODY ALREADY KNOWS THAT YOU WROTE THE POST?

I sign my emails, and often wonder why I bother. I think it's just good etiquette.

I think some people treat forum posts a bit like letters. In a letter you are expected to sign with your name, even if your name and address is written at the top. It's a tradition, and it would probably be seen as quite impolite not to do it in a letter. People who sign their forum posts probably just want to be polite.
