    once more, i'll say that i meet 1. e4 d5 with 2. d4, transposing to the blackmar-diemer gambit.

    since you gambit a pawn... they have named it... surprice: the scandinavian gambit ;-)

    Scandinavian always seems better for white in my opinion. If you play it I say that 1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Nf6 is the best way to go about it. BTW Fischer scored 100% against the Scandinavian. Edit:Not quite, his recored was 5 wins 2 draws 0 losses. So he was undefeated against it...

    actually, the scandi has been gaining a better reputation as of late.

    I just find that the fast development and open lines of the BDG are more helpful to me when I have 5 min to think as opposed to the lines of the scandi.

    In cc, I never play the BDG, only exd5.
