I am getting fed up with losing games on here by making stupid mistakes,so I am adopting a new approach with a simple set of rules.How long it will last remains to be seen,but if successful,I hope my play will improve so when my rating soars to 2000 please don't accuse me of cheating:-
1.When I start to play I will give each game the attention it deserves.If I stare at a position for 10 minutes or more and only make one move that day then hopefully it will be the right one.
2.I will stop responding to my opponents quickly(related to 1 -above)At present I like to play as if I were playing "live" as it were so if an opponent is online and responds to my move instantly I will do the same.This will stop although I will still play "live" games first.
3.I will stop flitting between my games and the forums all the time.If I am playing chess, that's what I will do.
4..I will not try to play when the washing machine in the kitchen is making a horrific sound whilst spinning.It vibrates so much, standing next to it can give one a sexual experience.
5.I will not waste time on futile games when I am obviously lost in the hope my opponent will do something stupid or run out of time.
The end
@paul-leggett saidI wouldn't advise enquiring about one.
@venda
What brand of washing machine is that? Do they still sell them?
just curious, of course! 😉
You can have ours if you like.The "bonus feature" I mentioned has little attraction for me these days.
@venda saidGood plan you have-

The only things I would add are: 1. Cut down on that game load of yours, this will give you more time with each move. 2. Make tactics training a part of your daily routine.
Can't help you with that washing machine though -
Hi venda,
"When I start to play I will give each game the attention it deserves."
Here unlike OTB chess you can see your move before your play it.
Play your intended move and then look for to if it is not a silly blunder.
One minute max should be long enough. If you spot it is a lemon then
take it back, do not, as I have a few times, send it by mistake.
"I will stop responding to my opponents quickly."
I very frequently use the conditional move feature, especially if I have trap on the go.
I like the 'deep move' feature where you can play a series of forced moved
(here there be traps!) or if you have a forced mate on. I love the idea of the
RHP site playing out my mate whilst I'm asleep or our shopping with the wife.
Also I'm sure a lot of players here make their moves in sessions, skipping quickly
through each game till they have no more moves to make. Again if my game comes
around twice or thrice in that routine my chances of seeing a blunder increase.
@greenpawn34 said'DEEP MOVE' doesn't work for me 🙁

I don't use the conditional moves feature,but I do use the analyze board.
It's always the first thing I do when I log into a game.
I think one of the problems is I don't look at it for long enough!!
@jb70 saidThanks for your suggestion.I am useless at d.i.y.I've made that many cock ups in the past I'm not allowed to attempt anything anymore.
@venda
>washing machine in the kitchen is making a horrific sound whilst spinning.It vibrates so much,..
Check the concrete block is not fractured causing to spin out of balance
Suits me!!
Looking at your icon suggests you are a handy sort of bloke.
When can you come round and take a look?
Seriously,the thing is knackered.The softener never goes down and when it spins the clothes are still wet through.It doesn't owe us anything,things aren't made to last anymore.When the lockdown ends the missis wants a new kitchen anyway so we'll get a new 'un then and probably pay for a maintenance contract!!
@venda saidI too am a big fan of the analyze feature! It is so much easier than my previous tactic of setting up the positions of an RHP game on a chess board, writing out the moves on paper and then experimenting with different possible lines.
Thanks for the advice Geoff.

Oh, and while I'm here...In my mind at least, Duchess is HOT! ! ! ! 😍
