I keep thinking a sacrifice is coming here, but I just can't seem to make it work.

Neither 12.Ngxf7 Rxf7 13.Nxf7 Kxf7 or

12.Ngxh7 Nxh7 13.Bxg6 fxg6 14.Qxg6+ Kh8 15.Bh6 Bf6 16.Bxf8 Bxe5 seems to work. Black survives well in both lines.

So my vote is.........

13.Ngf3 Re8

13.Ngf3 freeing the c1 Bishop. 13...Re8 to avoid 14.Bh6.

13. Ngf3 for white; at the same time protecting the attacked d4 pawn and making room for Bc1 to go to the now weakened dark squares around black's king.

black plays 13. ...Nbd5.

13. Ngf3... The Knight has already accomplished his function (weaken the dark squares so now white can play Bh6).
13. ... Nfd5.

13.Re1 Nbd5

Moving the Knight on f6 discovers and attack on the g5 knight but looks to dangerous. To many pieces on the kingside for white.

8 minutes.

Edit: completely forget about the d pawn. Man my chess is horrible now days. 2 simple mistakes arleady. Still not back to my old chess strength or concentration. To much hard work.

Dang, missed the last round, would have only got the one point though.

I'm thinking 14.Re1 Nbd5

e-file looks best for white to stick a rook on and it defends the knight.

Nbd5 gives the knight a good post and allows the b-pawn to move and release the bishop if needs be. Was toying with Nfd5 but that allows white's knight to land on g4 pressuring h6.

14. Bg5 Nfd5

14. Bg5 with the idea of Qd2->Bh6...
14. ... Nfd5 - can't think of another way to prevent Bh6 and would hate to have the B on h6...

14. Qd2 threatens an immediate invasion on h6. Black is getting very cramped and running out of options here. 14...Ng8 looks like the only move that keeps White at bay for the moment.

14. Bg5 - connect the rooks, continue development.

black will play Nbd5 - the knight isn't doing anything on b6 except blocking the pawn and c8-bishop development.

14.Bg5, opening the c1 square for one of the rooks.
Black will probably play bNd5 with the idea of central control and b6 followed by Bb7 or Ba6 to develope the trapped bishop

EDIT:black will probably want to make use of the open C-File also

14.Qd2 Ng8

14.Qd2 in order to invade at h7. 14...Ng8 the only viable move to combat this threat.

Qd2 with the intention of Bh6+ and Ng8 to prevent that...
