chess friends,
can you help me? I want to improve my chess and I have been seen on ineternet a myriad of chess lessons; chess improvement sites. Chess lessons are advirtised for a fee. Which sites can you suggest or are you aware of ( 1example www.totalchess.com ) ?? Before i invest money and time, I want to get your opinions.... Thanks, Jtab.

Has anyone heard of GM Shirov?

www.bereg.ru

It is Russian, and it is kind of tricky to find the English Translator there, but it isnt that hard for me since I am Russian. But it is a very good site!!! GM Shirov got a draw against GM Kaspaov!!!!!

😲😵🙄😲😵🙄😲😵🙄😲😲😲😀

i get a lot more out or hearing a GM talk about a game than reading about it.

so i like these sites:

http://chess.fm (especially GM Akobian's lectures)
http://www.chesswise.com/ (the Maurice Ashley course)

they are best for those of us in the 1400-1800 range i'd guess...

anyone know other sites where there is audio and video as opposed to text?

Okay,..Pawn can move once or twice on its first move. After that, once only. Knights can jump.
Rooks can only move horizontally or vertically. Queen, any direction. Bishop, only diagonally on its color. King, any direction, but one square only. Object of the game...to win. No charge for this lesson,...good luck.

Also, you know that castling move? Only works with a Rook. You cannot do it with a Bishop and call it "mitering".
